Medical Vision
My ultimate goal is to attend medical school and pursue a career in either cardiology or cardiovascular surgery. The heart has always fascinated me because it shows so clearly how engineering and medicine connect. At its core, the cardiovascular system is a pump and a network of vessels governed by the same principles of pressure, flow, and mechanical stress that I study in my engineering courses. Cardiology would let me apply my diagnostic and problem-solving skills to understanding and managing heart disease. Cardiovascular surgery would combine that analytical thinking with the precise, hands-on work I have come to enjoy through years of mechanical repair. Heart disease is still one of the leading causes of death, and I want to spend my career helping patients and their families through some of the most critical moments of their lives. Whichever path I choose, I believe my engineering background will give me a distinctive way of understanding the heart and the technologies used to treat it.
